Chelmsford City named as finalists for two industry awards!

Chelmsford City Racecourse is delighted to announce they have been named as a Finalist for the prestigious Showcase & Awards, hosted by the Racecourse Association (RCA). The racecourse is a finalist in the Events category, and also the Digital and Social Media category.

The Showcase & Awards is the marquee event of British racecourses that annually celebrates first class customer experience in partnership with Moët Hennessy and Racing Post.

From the five Finalists in each category the winner will be revealed at the Showcase & Awards ceremony on 16 November at Newbury Racecourse.

The Events award celebrates superb events that provide memorable days out and attract new customers to racecourses. Entries (in Chelmsford’s case, our Ladies Day 2017 event) were asked to demonstrate a defined strategy and excellence in execution, along with a clear link to the racecourse brand and encouragement of return visits.

The Digital & Social Media Excellence Award celebrates best in class in the world of digital presence and social media. Entries had to demonstrate how the racecourse crafted targeted campaigns through these channels in order to improve brand presence, customer relations and/or commercial gain.

Jill Turner, Commercial Manager at Chelmsford City Racecourse, said:

“The team at Chelmsford City have worked tirelessly, over the three years that the course has been in operation, to ensure that the annual Ladies Day event becomes a fixture in the Essex social calendar. The racecourse has formed partnerships with some fantastic local organisations such as Heart Essex, Intu Lakeside and Essex Life magazine amongst others and it’s fantastic that our efforts have been formally recognised after such a short period of time!”

“Over the past 18 months, the racecourse has concentrated on developing a voice across its digital and social output. This has seen a vast increase in interaction, in turn resulting in increased traffic to our website. The judges were impressed with the digital & social media plan the racecourse has implemented.”
