The band saw their debut album, Brave, became the first British country album to break into the top 10, and they have appearances on the Graham Norton Show, Sunday Brunch, the One Show and on BBC Radio 2 to their name.

Tickets for this much anticipated concert are on sale now and are priced at £25 for a Standard Grounds Only entry. There are a number of hospitality options available too!

We are delighted to announce that we will welcome UB40 on 12 August 2017. UB40 – featuring original members Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue – will be bringing their inimitable blend of reggae and pop greatest hits to the newest Racecourse in the Uk. This will follow an exciting fixture or Arabian horse racing.

The famous band will take to the stage on what promises to be a balmy summer evening. The UB40 Grandslam Tour will run from 20 May until 12 August and will see the band perform at some of the greatest and most prestigious outdoor venues in the UK, culminating with the performance at Chelmsford City on 12 August.

Ali Campbell of UB40 said, “We cannot wait to perform for all our fans at Chelmsford next summer, to perform all the favourites that our fans love. This is going to be a brilliant experience for both us and the fans.”

Jill Turner, Commercial Manager at Chelmsford City Racecourse, said “We are delighted to be able to welcome the iconic UB40 to the Racecourse. We feel they are the perfect act for our venue, and will provide our customers with an unforgettable concert night out.”
